Just a few weeks ago, on Easter weekend, over 5,900 people participated in worship services at our Murfreesboro and Smyrna campuses, our Inner-City Program, and the Rutherford County Work Center. Many of these heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time. One notable event occurred at the Work Center after Pastor, Doug Campbell preached the gospel. During a come-forward invitation, Pastor John Spurgeon invited anyone wanted to pray to receive Christ to come up to pray with a pastor or counselors. A group of inmates immediately came forward to pray with Pastor Doug to receive Christ together. The photo you see here of Doug with his arms spread wide to embrace these new believers and brothers-in-Christ is a beautiful picture of how Jesus accepts us...and embraces us...just as we are.
